The Interactive News is an online archive of interactive articles published by media organizations.
News organizations and ways of information delivery are rapidly evolving, and the website serves as a catalog for this evolution.
It also serves as a resource for designers, journalists and researchers. This was a project of Carnegie Mellon headed by faculty member, Alex Cheek.
I acted as the Web Designer and Developer on this project. Some of the skills used in this project were Hi-fidelity Prototyping, HTML, CSS and Research.
The client had a good understanding of what he wanted in terms of the visual look and feel of the project. The client also had preliminary sketches and wireframes and wanted to jump straight into hi-fidelity mockups. I used Webflow to create and test the hi-fidelity prototypes.
This phase involved creating the actual website using Wordpress and the Ultimatum Framework. I learned to write PHP code, and improved my HTML and CSS skills as well.
The visual language for this website was inspired by Modern Architecture. During the final stages of the project, the client and I worked together closely to finesse the details of the website.
The final deliverable was a functioning website complete with a CMS that allowed the client to upload and display content as he wished.
